Eraser
Formulaic Arnold Schwarzenegger thriller - instantly forgettable and eminently watchable, if drunk. The big man is on fine form (aided by a sharp script), the explosions are massive and the action is snappily paced. Mindless, but sweet eye candy
Arnie is the eraser, taking care to eradicate any trace of those people unfortunate enough to need the services of the US Federal Witness Protection Programme. However, when there seems to be a leak in the carefully constructed new identity of his latest charge (Williams), he soon finds himself at the centre of a far-reaching conspiracy. This is above average, old-fashioned thriller stuff that you've have seen many times before, but slick direction, some spectacular action and Arnie, for once armed with a solid script, ensure that it makes for a thrilling ride. Verdict As entertaining and solid as its leading man. |
