Amazingly moving but gripping film
This is a 5 star within its type of film - it won't be 5 stars for all viewers though. It's a Disney film and so it's moving, sweet & weepy but both kids and adults (especially women) love it. It's a feel good adventure movie which is beautifully filmed and acted by both actors and dogs alike! Despite the calm style of story there isn't a boring moment and it doesn't have too much of a 'hairy fairy' ending either - pretty realistic and especially since it's based on a true story. It's a film I had to share with colleagues and friends alike and I'm still thinking about it over a week later. I thoroughly recommend it.

The family adventure Eight Below is an easy watch, thanks to the splendors of frosty scenery and furry canines. Pic, which follows eight sled dogs trapped in Antarctica and the humans who try to rescue them, is an entertaining story (but less so when bipeds are taking up valuable four-legged screentime). The Disney offering should do reasonable winter biz, with better to come as a home-format item.

Pic is "suggested" by the 1983 Nippon feature Nankyoku Monogatari (Antarctica), which was in turn inspired by real-life events. The Japanese version was set in 1958, with two human protags, and seven out of nine dogs doomed early on. This version is set in the ea...

Paul Walker is a hottie but that Doc Davis is kinda annoying cause he does not listen. oh and Maya and Max are my favorite dogs. There a cutie.The dogs are ADORABLE and it was sad how the one dog was licking the one that didn't move. I LOVE MAX AND MAYA.

ABSOLUTLY LOVED THISMOVIE. WOULD RECOMEND IT A HUNDRED TIMES OVER. I'M A HUGE WOLF FAN AND AN EXTREME DOG LOVER, OWNING ONE MAGNIFICENT, PERFECT DOG MYSELF. I loved this movie. I could watch it a million times and never get tired of it. I love how Paul Walker adapted to a different role other than Fast and the Furious. I really shows that he is a diversified actor and can play a variety of roles. He went from a hard core ex cop to a dog lover who will do anything to save his animals no matter who he had to step over. I look forward to him playing in a similiar role in the future.
