good movie! I like meryl streep! she's always good in whatever roles she play. she's a fantastic actress!! i like how she doggedly pursued the wrongdoer. Personally i've experienced ppl like that: they are influencial, they are good orators and they know how to act the good guy and play with their words so that they dont come out looking bad. but the simple truth is: just becoz u BELIEVE u did no wrong, doesn't make it so.

i hate that sister james! i wanna punch her in her stupid naive face! what a wimpy goody dummy!

Interesting, compelling but above all thought provoking, despite all the comments and the barrage of mini psychiatric assesments of the players and plot it is worth the watch and take it all in

A good performance by meryl streep once again and a realistic portrayal of the catholic schools run by nuns in the sixties, having been there.

Generally I was let down by the film, it was good but not great and I would say it was worthy of a 7/10

I thought at first that she was going little crazy. Though, at the beginning, him giving him special attention was kinda of odd. I felt for the guy, and understand it might have been true at the end, when he smiled.

There is no doubt that Phillip Seymour Hoffman is the greatest actor of today. From Happiness to Almost Famous to Capote there is not a role he can not take on. In Doubt along with the great Meryl Streep they make a superb match for each other.

Meryl Streep was fantastic, she was a formidable character, I love what a versatile actress she is.

Amy Adams was not so good, not one of her best performances, she looks scared and on the verge of tears throughout.

An interesting look at a controversial topic, definately worth the watch. Phillip Seymour Hoffman is unreadable, you never can tell if he did it or not..

I loved this movie. It was a tad slow in spots but such is life. Life isn't a Hollywood movie. This was perfect in the story telling. It reflected the times as angry as his mom made me. I understood that's how it was back then. You step away from God to pursuit wrongdoers..That's powerful and so true. Hold on to your convictions and your instincts. Just because it's looks innocent doesn't mean it is. If more people were less selfish and had more conviction we could stamp out all kinds of wrongs! 4/5

Great example as to why Nuns DON'T play poker. "OH the guilt!"

Every hand,, the recital of ten Hail Marys,, the game would take forever!

And while I am thinking of it,, this movie is as redeeming as watching a table full of nuns play poker.

If that perked your interest,, then this movie is for you.

The acting in this thing was tremendous,, Meryl Streep indeed convinced me the she was the Head Nun.

I have NO DOUBT,, the character she portrayed would abruptly smack JC himself upside the head for the minor infraction of chewing gum in class! "You want me to tell your father Jesus,, cause I will?" "Jesus,, sit up straight BOY!"

Philip Seymour Hoffman,, again,, good job! I have NO DOUBT,, his character hadn't a clue in how to handle women! "That boy was confused!" N O DOUBT,, he would abruptly give JC a consoling hug after being sternly and righteously disciplined by the HEAD NUN! "It's alright Jesus,, we all know she's the dragon"

Amy Adams (first movie I've ever seen her in) gets acting kudos from me too. She's a darlin'.

"It's a good thing that JC is in my class right,, yeah,, possibly,, hope so,,? I'm Not going to hell if I assign him homework am I?"

I was surprised to learn,, after I watched it,, that this movie was first a play on Broadway and not only that,, was nominated for a Tonys. Then,, this movie was nominated for the Oscar! "How da hell?'

For me,, this movie is an "ABC Afterschool Special" lucky enough to snarl over qualified actors to play in it. SINFUL!

I will NOT be buying the DVD

I will NOT be recommending it to anyone. In fact,, at my future poker games,, I will dare NOT mention that I ever have watched it.

It's Not that it is a horrible movie,, it's just that meh,, wasn't entertained by watching nuns and priests play cat and mouse for two hours. NO matter how well it was acted.<

In a sense the movie was boring, but overall it was good. It's a realistic reflection of what happens sometimes between preists and young children, and how it's often pushed aside and ignored by the church. I was really shocked and upset that [SPOILER] . A parent's place is to protect their child from ALL HARM!

I have doubted watching this movie for a long time, but in the end I should have watched it sooner.

This is a very good dramatic movie. It moves very slow so make sure you watch this when you are not about to fall asleep, but it still has me thinking and still has me wondering about the priest..

Good watch!
