omg this movie was so wack i can't believe i watched it all through. The beginning is kinda comedy like and i could tell i wasn't gonna like it, but since a few people had posted to give it a chance cuz it gets better, i went on..what a complete waste of my time. Complete garbage! Well, maybe not completely, the story line was actually something i had never seen before, but that's it. Apparantely there's people that like this movie, but not me..i'm just angry that i wasted 1 1/2 hours of my day on what seemed total garbage. My opinion!

District 9 is a story about aliens who make contact with Earth and the relationships with humans and society. The creatures were set up in a makeshift home in South Africa's District 9. Control over the aliens has been contracted out to Multi-National United (MNU), a private company uninterested in the aliens' welfare. Their sole interest, alien technology and weapons. Weapon research would mean huge profits for the company. Wikus van der Merwe (Sharlto Copley) is placed in charge of the filed operation to evict, remove, and place the aliens in a new holding facility. Conflict and tension threaten the operation as agents move in.

every time i watch this, i enjoy it more. such a neat premise, so nicely told and filmed..

gotta go 5/5 for it. great sci-fi movie without being overly action-packed, and without even leaving the planet.

awesome weaponry, characters that feel dirty, real, and.. human..

people give Wikus a bad rap, saying he's self-serving and kind of a tool, but he's by far one of the greatest protagonist/antagonist characters of any movie in the last 20 years (at least). you start out hating him for being such a coward, but he transforms into a real stand-up guy.

watch it. its not as much of a documentary as people make it out to be..

don't worry if you get a bit confused by something- if you do its just that you missed a bit of dialogue, or its something that hasn't been explained yet. just enjoy it and take it all in, it really is very well done..

awesome fucking flick. saw it at the theaters and loved it. bought it on blu-ray the first day and loved it times 100. non-stop action, a must see and cannot miss. 1 of the greatest sci-fi movies of all-time up, there with the matrix. 3 1/2 of 4 stars excellent.

4,5 for cg, 4 for the funny way that the movie start, almost like a work doc, a lot of humor there, 3 for the storyline, wich is well, just predictable, and the ending is kind of sad, the acting is great as the production, just not mu couple of tea..

being a sci-fi fan I found it rather relaxing, it was nice to have the focus of the film not be "save the world from the aliens" like so many others, but rather the opposite, save the world from ourselves, I like movies that are different from the norm, and this one is way outside the box, I'm not saying everyone will like it, most won't, don't expect to see Independance Day its nothing like that, for me it was a great story building up to one awesome ending, but its not for everyone, 7/10

I must real be honest I started watching this film and thought it was a load of goofy trash but as i continued to watch I started to have feeling connected with the charterers having grown up in the ghettos of Sacramento. [SPOILER] I give this movie 41/2 out of 5 stars you Need to look at what the human race is really like and how we treat outsiders.

It took about half way through the movie before a story actually started to kick in. Special Effects were very good. The movie is made to make you think it is real. Not a bad movie in my opinion, and it kinda hits your human side. 3/5

I'm sorry but I could only survive 15mins of this movie and this was my second attempt to try and enjoy this movie as I'm a major sci-fi fan.But the filming was terrible,the acting was atrocious,the script was pathetic.Totally boring.Creature effects were ok,that was the only good thing about this movie.Not wasting my time on this film anymore!There are so many better films out there to watch!!
