Superb Film
This in my opinion is the best revenge thriller ever made. It is well acted and jam packed with gritty action and thrills and mixes emotion, fear and anger to give its audience a rollercoater ride not to forget. The soundtrack by Canadian rockers Speed Pilot is a must for any radiohead fans. Check out the film, i would recommend buy as you will want to watch this again.

An ordinary family man makes enemies with the wrong gang -- and vice versa -- in the blood-soaked revenge thriller Death Sentence. This well-made, often intensely gripping genre piece packs some bizarre tonal extremities and a few moments of self-critique into its tale of a grieving father seeking his own brand of justice, but action buffs won't get too hung up on ethical considerations amid all the rousing gunplay and arterial splatter. A confident lead turn by Kevin Bacon and lack of heavyweight competition could enable a minor B.O. killing, with likely superb execution in ancillary.

"You really don't know what you'd do until it happens." That's the message of Kevin Bacon's upstanding family man turned crazed vigilante character in the brutal and unsatisfying Death Sentence. Revenge is a compelling idea to examine from various angles. But this film is so superficial and shifts so jarringly in tone that nothing feels authentic - not Bacon's hard-working husband and father, nor his maniacal vengeance seeker.

He's trying to restore balance by going after the freed killer of his beloved son (Stuart Lafferty). But by doing so, he unleashes a brutal war against his whole family. Yes, he's trying to be Charles Bronson in this Death Wish rem...

The Wisevid link at #3 is uncomplicated and very reliable. "Death Sentence" is similar in various respects to many other movies but that doesn't make it a rip-off. Murder and vendetta are phenomena that constantly recur. Bacon being rather scrawny of physique and here a sedentary worker to boot, it would have been better to have explained his prowess in unarmed combat and skill in handling firearms: the odd reference to and photo on the the sideboard of his time in the marines perhaps. Worms that suddenly turn do not normally do so so effectively. [SPOILER] Bacon/ Hume rashly made the wrong decisions, but more circumspect vengeance ("revenge is a dish that is preferably enjoyed cold") would have been less exciting. In the UK too, the brief prison terms and kid-glove treatment of those who take or ruin the lives of others often seem ridiculously inadequate (and now there's even talk about giving serving convicts the vote!). Didn't even notice the music, which is usually a good sign.(8

Man, this is a great movie. Kevin Bacon was right on the money too. If you like revenge movies like Charles Bronson use to do, WATCH and ENJOY! Plenty of action and gore. 10/10 stars

like a cheaper version of the punisher.

the action was good and i like Kevin Bacon. but, not his best work.

so many flaws in this movie. just a one time watch if only for Kevin Bacon.
