In Civil War-era Alabama, a band of outlaws takes refuge at an abandoned plantation after robbing a bank that held a cache of Confederate gold. Led by William, the group includes Sam, Todd, Annabelle, Clyde and Joseph. They intend to flee to Mexico, but nightfall and a thunderstorm force the robbers to remain in place. As the night wears on, each member of the group begins to have visions of the atrocities that occurred within the house. As supernatural forces begin to manifest themselves, the six turn on one another.

A nicely atmospheric period horror story, Dead Birds? ambition is let down by budgetary restraints. As with many other low-budget horror movies, there is the impression that some scenes are missing or that some shots could have done with another take ? something prevented by a tight schedule.

Not at all what the preview trailer led me to believe, and partly because of this it scores rather low on my meter. For what it is, however, it still is not anything to get excited over, though having it set in 'Civil War' times was an interesting twist on the genre.
It was ok..a few jumps here n there- not the best ghost movie ever, tho. The picture quality on Youku isn't that great, which didn't help my overall opinion. 3/5
