Cujo
Horror/suspense film based on the story by Stephen King about a viciously rabib St Bernard
A killer St Bernard dog is the unlikely monstrosity of this horror based on the bestseller by Stephen King. Said dog, the titular Cujo, spends the film dispensing rabid froth rather than nice warming brandy to the citizens of a small American town. That's what happens if you take your family pet for a walk near a colony of rabid bats, I suppose. And if you cheat on your husband, too - there's a strong sense that this animal is an instrument of moral retribution, as he only seems to have it in for the heroine Donna Trenton (Wallace-Stone), who's recently broken her marriage vows, and spends much of the film trapped in a broken-down car with her son (Pintauro), subjected to repeat attacks by the dog. It's extremely suspenseful stuff, despite the barking-mad premise of the plot. |
