Mountaineering action movie with Sylvester Stallone going up against terrorists led by a sneering John Lithgow
Big-budget nonsense that still manages to provide plenty of thrills thanks to its high-rise settings. Stallone stars as the mountaineer whose career is effectively brought to an end after he is unable to stop a climber from tumbling to her death. However, he is forced to think again when there's the small matter of stopping terrorists to consider. Harlin, a seasoned action director, knows how to draw tension out of a situation, here creating a stunning opening sequence and lots of mountain top suspense, while Stallone does his likeable hunk act quite adequately. |
