Recently promoted to 00 status, James Bond takes over his first mission, in which he faces a mysterious private banker to world terrorism and poker player, Le Chiffre. Along with a beautiful Treasury agent and the MI6 man in Montenegro, Bond takes part in a high stakes poker game set up by Le Chiffre in order to recover a huge sum of his clients' money he lost in a failed plot that the British spy took down. 007 will not only discover the threatening organization behind his enemy, but the worst of all truths: to not trust on anyone.
A New Direction
A far cry from the days of Roger Moore's arched eyebrow and safari suit, Daniel Craig brings a depth and menace to Ian Fleming's vision. Casino Royale contains enough improbable gunfights and aerial stunts to satisfy the traditionalists but dispenses with the wisecracks and cheekiness in favour of a pared down and therefore more riveting story. Craig has stepped into the role of the fledgling 007 with style and confidence and has already made it his own. He suits the grittier, more violent story and has introduced a raw magnetism to the role that hasn't been seen for a long time. Absolutely fantastic.
The worst Bond
Not a classic Bond..in fact in my opinion its the worst one i've ever seen (and i've seen em all). A lacklustre story, no drama, no plot, bitty, no memorable bad guy, no gadgets, no memorable bond girl. The action scenes were even less believable than previous bonds. I'm afraid the Bonds have taken a step backwards for me. However, Daniel Craig was good and well suited to action but not so good as a ladies man. (Roger Moore for that)
The latest James Bond installment has less campy flavor and more pulse-stopping action (?? la The Bourne Identity). It also sets the scene for Bond's evolution from a cocky brute into the sophisticated and suave spy we know and love.
Though Sean Connery and Pierce Brosnan distinguished themselves in previous movies, Daniel Craig has made Bond his own. His portrayal feels grittier and more complex than previous 007s. This is also partly the result of a better script, by Neal Purvis, Robert Wade and Oscar winner Paul Haggis, as well as top-notch directing by Martin Campbell (GoldenEye). Craig bring...
Few pop cultural phenomena prove that the memory deceives quite like the James Bond series. Indeed, if previous generations were to be believed, the 007 saga was an effortlessly excellent affair peppered with Coward-esque bon mots and performances that recall Laurence Olivier in his pomp.
In reality, Bond on the big screen has been a hit-or-miss affair almost from the beginning. And since the last film, Die Another Day, was the sort of miss that suggests the Brocolli/Wilson producer team would have a hard time hitting a cow's arse with a banjo, it's lately looked as if Bond's as much a relic of yesteryear as the Cold War.

Facially DC's possibly not as universally appealing to the opposte sex as Pierce used to be and a mark 4 Mondeo's hardly an Aston but we weren't dissapointed, the Aston came later. Bond to the dark haired reem lady, 'Whatever's left, whatever I am, I'm yours. Jason Mraz obviously watched this movie and that's where he got inspiration for his mega-hit. Unsurprisingly, better than most of the earlier Bonds.
She says, 'I'm not that (sort of) girl', he says, 'Maybe you're just out of practice', cheers Craig, I'll remember that one, could come in useful. The other, blonde lady, reeeem, I want her.
In hindsight, I truely have a regret, that is, not seeing this movie at the cimema, and enjoying this film on the silver screen. This James Bond, is nothing like the 007 of old. A matter of fact, this younger, more athletic Bond could more stunds then I seen in any of the series. Daniel Criag, elevates the genre of hi-spy-ism, to a all new refreshing level of rapid-pace action-pack entertainment with the intensity that requires several viewing of this movie to deeply appreciate the stunts action sequence in the fullest details. Bravo my friends, well done in deed. I give this film 4 and half stars.
excellent bond movie almost as good as sean connery non stop action it is best watch on blueray i would recommend this to every one who loves bond movies
Im still facinated by the black guy Bond chases in the begining of the movie..Damn he was good..The Guy moves like a monkey n a panther at the sae time..i was amazed..
This movie really reshaped the franchaise, although the follow-up wasn't much. The depth of character was very shocking to see from a Bond movie, and the emotional attachment of Bond to Vesper was very different from previous Bond movies. Acting was top notch from Craig. Lots of action, plenty of plot turns, beautiful scenery, fashion, glamour etc. All in all, it was one hell of a movie for a wide audience. All the time you are watching you, you can feel forces at work behind the scenes. This movie will keep you at the end of your seat. And with good reason.
this is in my opinion the greatest bond film ever made. and i've seen most of them. daniel craig is the new bond, you wont miss pierce anymore, after watching this. 3 1/2 of 4 stars excellent.
Daniel Craig did a good job as bond but is not the best bond like some people say. I liked this one because we see a different bond and why he doesnt show emotions in other ones.
