	Storyline:	Truman Capote was known for his eccentric personality and mannerisms. Running in both literary and celebrity circles, the author redefined the idea of true-crime books with the release of In Cold Blood. Capote researched the case about a Kansas family murdered by a pair of drifters, and presented the details of the crime in a narrative way closer to fiction. Capote became close with the convicted killer, and the lines between journalism and personal intent were blurred the more involved Capote became.

Over Hyped
This flim and its reviews have hyped the style and skill of this film far too much. It has raised expectations past what any film can achieve. The first hour or so is made of bland and largely uninteresting conversation pieces between Capote and various other actors.

The film uses dull colours and shading so much that this lighting method becomes incredibly obvious adn thus ineffective. The acting is largely drab with many seeming to rely on Seymour-Hoffmans strong acting.

There is a strong lack of exploration of the psychology between Capote and Perry. When quite obviously Capote sees a huge similarity between himself and Perry.

Also what comes accross is Truman Capote&...

The Whispering
Philip Seymour Hoffman must do an incredible job of impersonating Truman Capote in this movie (I don't know this for sure because I, unlike the self congratulatory critics it seems, never knew Mr Capote). I have no idea why else this film would have met with the critical acclaim it did. I refuse to believe that I just didnt get it or that it was too smart for me--this film was anything but.

Hoffman whispers his way through the movie making the dialogue very difficult to hear, let alone care about.

The film plods and this is compounded on by underdeveloped characters for whom the viewer can build no kind of empathy.

This film depicts Truman Capote's life so well! This was a well writen film that deserves to be admired by all to come! I have to say I liked Walk The Line a little more than this one, but all the same this movie shows how much of a genius that Truman Capote really is.

I think that this movie very good and i would recommend it. I have purchased the book of amazon and cannot wait to read it. In the books there are always more details that could not be placed in a movie and I cannot wait to see whatthey are. I feel so sorry the familys' lost but I also felt sorry for the lost of those lost men. I felt sorry for Truman and him not being able to mentally get passed what he had incountered during that time.

I'm so glad that I had the opportunity to see Hoffman's protrail of Truman Capote; his role was certainly worthy of the Oscar it netted. Fantastic interpretation, so into character it is freightening. I had seen the movie, "In Cold Blood," years before and it was shocking. Little did I know the impact the story had on Mr. Capote. This man truely suffered for his work, and it is a shame he never finished another book before his untimely death. What a great man, capable of feeling and honestly representing his subject; regardless of the horror and the pain of the exercise. Great film!

you really gotta have guts to talk & act like Hoffman did. he was just so incredible!! Holy jesus, what a terrific film! Phillip Seymour Hoffman can play practically any character. This dude is really talented, he's the only actor i've ever admired so much. Please watch this film, it's beautiful.

Man Hoffman nailed Capote's character! The way he talked was just like Capote, which was very peculiar in the sound of it. It kind of made me giggle a little bit when I first heard him speak. Great acting by all the main characters.

Capote's obsession with his prisoner is somewhat similar to Norman Mailer's coverage of Gary Gilmore in "The Executioner's Song", which won a pulitzer prize. Gilmore also had great drawings and poetry. His last words were: "let's do this".

I LOVE PHILLIP SEYMOUR HOFFMAN! THIS MOVIE TRULY SHOWS HIS TALENT. HE DESERVED THE OSCAR FOR THIS. I HAVE WATCHED HIM IN EVERY MOVIE SINCE TWISTER AND HE HAS GOTTEN ALMOST TO PERFECTION. EMPIRE FALLS WAS ANOTHER FAVORITE EVEN THOUGH HE HAD A SMALL PART IN IT, HE WAS EXCELLENT. CAN'T WAIT FOR MORE OF HIS MOVIES. TRUMAN CAPOTE WAS A TRULY TORTURED INDIVIDUAL AND IF NOT FOR THE GRACE OF GOD HE COULD HAVE BEEN PERRY SMITH, IT MAKES ONE WONDER IF HE WASN'T A PRISONER OF HIS OWN MAKING..
