I'm a huge fan of film noir, which is probably why I hate this movie. If you can get into Suburban kids from California talking like Humphrey Bogart than you could potentially jump on the wagon of everybody who thinks this movie is genius. I couldn't do it. The plot is also not so convoluted and multi-layered as your average classic. Mostly it's valuable as a film that perhaps turns younger people without much knowledge of the genre onto the classics, and for that I can appreciate it. There are a lot of noir films on this website, check them out!

an awesome who-dunit in high school mode. these kids are supposed to be in school but the death of a student spins her ex into the cities youth underbelly. while it has kids playing grownup games the film is a noir masterpiece. with no budget, the director edited this on a laptop, it has you guessing until the final minute. great story, great writing, and an excellent young cast propell this beyond b-movie status!

part say Juno, part dashiell hammett with a smidgen of say anything. this is interesting and tightly written. low budget but high quality acting, directing and writing.. a good watch.
