Breaking and Entering A series of burglaries makes architect Jude Law re-evaluate his life in this London-set drama from English Patient director Anthony Minghella
Returning to contemporary London for the first time since his 1991 debut feature Truly, Madly, Deeply, Oscar-winning director Anthony Minghella presents an intelligent, engrossing, somewhat cerebral exploration of modern lives in crisis. Jude Law plays Will, a successful yuppie architect with a beautiful Swedish girlfriend (Wright Penn) who comes to question his philanthropic decision to relocate to rundown King's Cross when local tearaway Miro (Gavron) breaks into his swanky offices and nabs his cherished laptop...
faking and entering
This is not actually a bad film. The problem with it is just that there's an unmistakeable whiff of implausibility about the whole thing. Jude Law is a saintly middle class architect (who never seems to actually do much work, beyond donning a hard hat every now and again or appearing in promotional videos talking about 'nature doesn't just mean green') who takes an extraordinarily liberal approach to having his office burgled, his laptop taken - with his 'entire life' stored on it - and his car stolen.
It's such a middle-class view of the world, at odds with reality. The teenage burglar turns out, of course, to be a sensitive and intelligent kid who's b...
Breaking and Entering
It's Binoche who startles with a raw portrayal bristling with anger and a festering sense of injustice

Well first and foremost i love Jude law and was excited to see he was in it, However i second that the lead male actor got on my nerves!! i would give this movie a 8/10. It was a bit slow movie but a well worth movie to watch. although us ladies did not learn anything we already didn't kno ;)
This movie is for those minds that don't mind deep dialouge. It is NOT boring for those who like drama and acting where the actors express themselves more verbally and emotionally than a fast pace movie. This movie was excellent, I never thought I would really like Jude Law but he was excellent in this movie. 5/5
This movie was just ok for me. I do like drama, in response to a previous post, but this movie for me was just about a man that messed up, and a wonderful wife that was as understanding and patient as a person can be. It really was nothing spectacular. 3/5 because I like Jude Law.
If your looking for a movie that moves at a snails pace, this is it. If Jude Law wasn't so handsome he would not have been able to get away with any of his behavior.
well done as far as acting storyline and all but to me it was too unrealistic not true to life on average - i don't know what exactly but i still think that best opinion is your own - so watch it! 8.5/10
I like Jude Law he is a believable actor and sometimes you can really get and become completely immersed into a film when a actor commands the role.
Just like A.I. and other films he been in, there is a wealth of satisfaction that comes when it become real on the silver screen.
Breaking and Entering is no exception here, for those of us who are married can identify from a distance, such life entrapments when you are not mature and protective against lifes temptations or fall because of low points or flows in the institution of matrimony.
For those of you who are new to marriage I have one word of advice, infidelity, unfaithfulness and adultery start in mind as a seed, your body just carries it out. When you know this and when the wake of temptation comes to you can cast it out of mind or better yet, expose it to light to your mate as you seen here, but before it happens..this is what keeps a strong union.
