BlinkStowe plays a blind violinist whose sight is miraculously restored, leaving her, however, with an optic block that means it can be days before an event she has observed reaches her brain. Needless to say, she then witnesses a murder and the clock starts ticking as to whether the killer can eliminate her before she can remember his identity. All of which could - and should - have managed to generate some tension, had Apted bothered to milk the material for what it was worth. The fact that the characters are so dislikeable doesn't help matters much. |
