I remember my friends all raving about this this movie.

Maybe I expected too much but in my opinion it wasn't what my friends made it out to be. I do enjoy some of Mel Brooks movies like "Young Frankenstein".

Regardless, this is considered a classic and it's a reminder that all races have something funny to laugh about.

This wasn't as funny as I remembered it as a child. Well, Mel Brooks movies are an acquired taste anyway; his humor can be a little dry. 2.25 out of 5 film cans.
