In rural Mississippi, Lazarus, a former blues musician who survives by truck farming, finds a young girl nearly beaten to death near his home. She's the white-trash town tramp, molded by a life of sexual abuse at the hands of her father and verbal abuse from her mother, who seems to delight in reminding Rae of her mistake in not aborting her. I really dislike sammual Jackson and try to stay away from his movies..but I really liked this one..it has a great story and soundtrack..i will add this to my favs and watch it again 9~10
This flick had a whole a new to group therapy. O lived the story and the actors. "My only disappointment, was they didn't let us see what happens to the other sub-plots. "That was one marriage that was going to be tested to its' fullest!" ** STARS!
It's a good weird movie.. Nothing really outstanding about it.. It's got a good cast (Samuel L. Jackson, Christina Ricchi, Justin Timberlake) and the story is unlike any i've ever seen or heard of.. I wouldn't recommend it unless you got some time to kill.. 6.5/10..
