Birthday Girl
Nicole Kidman is a rare actor and here again we see her take on a role that is outside the box Hollywood like to keep their female stars in. If you like any of the films from the left side of the studios you will want to see this frankly naive bank clerk change into a upstanding member of society via torture-albeit of the comfy chair variety-bank robbery and the last scene from Casablanca.

Off the beaten track
A thoughly enjoyable british film , Kidman has never been sexier. The plot was very original and the acting first class. A must !

Birthday Girl
Primarily worth seeing for Nicole Kidman's downbeat and brave performance as a Russian mail-order bride, this blackly comic film suffers from a genre identity crisis. Ben Chaplin plays the suburban bank clerk (with chronic side-parting) who summons Kidman to England via the internet. But once she's ensconced in his home, Chaplin is disappointed with her lack of English and grunge style, although he soon forgives her when she compensates for her lack of conversation with action in the bedroom. As love arrives for Chaplin, so do two men claiming to be Kidman's relatives and within seconds all he holds dear is in danger. In the end, this well-meaning film is not quite funny...

I watched -------- and it was good. So was the movie which took me by surprise. It's a comedy drama. Kidman was good as usual and one of my favourite French actors was in it laying a baddy s usual. The English lead really was a ------ but that's the part he was playing I guese. Worth a watch. it beat most of the new movies at the moment. Thanks for putting it on here.

Nicole kidman, Vincent Cassel and Mathieu Kassovitz as Russians..oh my lord.Very bad.They don't have the accent to go accordingly and i know Nicole took some Russian classes but she is still very far away with that Ausie accent blinking her attempts to be credible, when she acts as a Russian that is.Cassel..just used his french accent to make you believe he could pull Russian accent off.Otherwise, storywise, very poor and you could see it coming.No suprise there.Must have heard such stories on the tube many times.
