Childhood movie
If you remember this film as being great from your childhood, keep it that way or rent it for your kids. It hasn't aged that well.

80s Action Spoof
Funny 80s action spoof with a star turn from Kurt Russell as a John Wayne-esque trucker hero who doesn't actually do anything. Could have hyped up the ludicrousness a bit more to save us from those 80s vibes that were still coming through, but it was funny. Don't let the fact that it's parodying the genre detract from the fact that it's still for all intents and purposes an 80s actioner.

Big Trouble in Little China

At the time of its release, John Carpenter's Big Trouble In Little China shortsightedly mistaken for for an Indiana Jones knock-off. How wrong can people be? The film's script started life as a sequel for WD Richter's insane cult movie The Adventures Of Buckeroo Banzai Across The Eigth Dimension, and, while it was transformed into this Kurt Russell vehicle, it retains a madcap, ironic sensibility that is thoroughly at odds with your standard action-hero fare. Indeed, the film explicitly subverts the notion of the all-American action hero, with its ostensible lead Jack Burton (Russell) actually being a naive, self-deluded blockhead of startlingly low intellect and heroic ability th...

love it. kinda weird for a john carpenter film, meaning it's a comedy. it has it's funny moments and the action is o.k.. i would recommend. 2 1/2 of 4 stars good.

My mother shared this film with my brother and I as it was the Napoleon Dynamite of her day. At first, I thought it was kinda lame, cause my mother liked it :P but then as I continued to watch, I realized how hilariously amazing it was. :D
