Beautician and the Beast, The
Fran Drescher made her name as the "hostess with the mostest" in This Is Spinal Tap, but these days she's probably better know as the star of the sitcom The Nanny (big in the US though not here). This was intended as the vehicle to kickstart her career on the big screen, but unfortunately it was consigned to the straight-to-video bin here. It's actually not too bad, with Drescher playing the very "Noo Yawk" beautician who mistakenly winds up as governess to the family of the dictator (Timothy Dalton) of an Eastern European country and gradually melts his heart.
