In the unsanctioned, underground, and unhinged world of extreme Ping-Pong, the competition is brutal and the stakes are deadly. Down-and-out former professional Ping-Pong phenom Randy Daytona is sucked into this maelstrom when FBI Agent Rodriguez recruits him for a secret mission. Randy is determined to bounce back and recapture his former glory, and to smoke out his father's killer - one of the FBI's Most Wanted, arch-fiend Feng. But, after two decades out of the game, Randy can't turn his life around and avenge his father's murder without a team of his own. He calls upon the spiritual guida... nce of blind Ping-Pong sage and restaurateur Wong, and the training expertise of Master Wong's wildly sexy niece Maggie, both of whom also have a dark history with Feng. All roads lead to Feng's mysterious jungle compound and the most unique Ping-Pong tournaments ever staged. There, Randy faces such formidable players as his long-ago Olympics opponent, the still-vicious Karl Wolfschtagg. Can Randy keep his eye on the ball? Will he achieve the redemption he craves while wielding a paddle? Is his backhand strong enough to triumph over rampant wickedness?

Serves up a few decent shots.
Obviously trying to jump into the comic shoes of films such as Dodgeball and Shaolin Soccer, Balls of Fury is an enjoyable enough pastiche of sporting films mixed with old-skool Martial Arts flicks. With a plot about an underground ping-pong tournement run by an evil scheming warlord, and the FBI recruiting a failed ping pong champ to get them inside his lair, the sillyness of the scenario is evident. The film is played to the obvious puns, and only one or two moments seem fresh and original - but it doesn't really matter as for every duff gag there is an amusing one to compensate. Walken hams up the scenes he is in, even if he doesn;t make an entrance until half way through, and Magg...
Balls of Fury Deadbeat Dan Fogler locks paddles with an inscrutable Christopher Walken in this ping-pong comedy
Remember when Star Wars was an unexpected smash leading to a torrent of shoddy rip-offs, some of them so bad they managed to accidentally be fun? Imagine the results when someone tries muscling in on Will Ferrell's dumb sports-mocking turf. Fun - accidental or otherwise - is not the outcome. Nothing flops like bad comedy, and Dan Fogler will win few defenders with this terrible mess in which the Def Leppard soundtrack is the only thing to recommend it. That's right, Def Leppard. That's how bad it is.
Young Randy Daytona (Fogler) is a ping-pong ace carryin...
Relentlessly silly in spoofing martial-arts movie conventions, Balls of Fury has roughly enough laughs for a first-class trailer but wheezes, gasps and finally goes flat through much of its 90 minutes. "Reno 911!" collaborators Robert Ben Garant (who also directed) and Thomas Lennon (who co-stars) team on the script, but aside from giving pingpong its most loving and extended cinematic exposure since Forrest Gump, they have served up at best a minor trifle that lacks the inventiveness to keep paddling in theaters for long, with better possibilities of rallying as a DVD.
In some respects, the movie proves most notable for its oddities. In no particular or...

Really didnt like this one, not funny at all and what is funny has been done before. Shoul have been better, if I were you i wouldnt watch it, serious waste of time.
movie was good and funny good casting acting whole nine yards they made the sport table tennis come alive even more after this movie hope they make another one would be kool 9/10 rating in my opinion
Balls of Fury is a very funny movie with a wonderful cast (especially Christopher Walken and Thomas Lennon), and if some of the jokes fall flat, or gave themselves away in the trailer, the movie moves quickly enough that it doesn't matter. They're already onto another joke.
This was recommended to me, and i am very disappointed. I could managed half through the movie, and hoped it would get better, but I just didn't get the movie. Not funny, and plain boring! Balls of Stupidity is better to describe it! I don't think I had watched such a boring movie in a long time!
It's got plenty of the obvious slapstick/sexual stuff, nothing special, but parts like when Eddie is translating for "the Dragon" had me rolling. "Dragon say! 'no fair! she wasn't ready; this next shot is real "no-can-defend"'" I love this kind of layered humor. And I couldn't stop grinning whenever James Hong said a line.
for those of you who didn't get it,this was a spoof of Enter the Dragon, ping pong style. Not every movie has to be original or win awards to be a good movie.I found this one very funny and used to own it for a while.4/5
I love this movie. It's totally funny, and it don't have to make sense to be good..(It made sense to me though..sometimes you got to listen to get the joke).
