Effects are great considering it was released in 1978.

A movie decades old still is better than most sci fi movies produced today. Very entertaining, the producing, the graphics (not obvious fake CGI bull), the story line. 4.5/5

in respects of an alien movie it was one of the first that actually showed great promise but in my opinion its not one of the best - maybe its all the rubbish sequels that ruined it for me - later movies such as predator are a million times better then this - however i must say that considering the fact it was made in 1979 its an absolute landmark - 7/10

great film, very rare when the first one is not the best one, ALIENS took the honor. it's worth more than 1 watch. 3 of 4 stars very good.
