I WATCHED IT UNTIL THE END. IT HAD PROMISE BUT ONCE THE GUN FIGHT HAPPENES IN THE END IT MAKES YOU WISH YOU DIDN'T WASTE YOUR TIME. VERY UNREALISTIC. TERRIBLE ACTING AND DIRECTING. THE ENDING IS A REAL DISAPOINTMENT.

don't watch if you don't like westerns. otherwise, this was a decent western. paced slow like most are. the music was a bit too dramatic. still worth a watch.

One of the comments said this film had excessive closeups. I felt this too. Otherwise this movie was decently done. (Some complained it was overdramatic, or lacked action, or had the music wrong. I don't agree with those complaints). I rated it 6 out of 10.

this movie was like a soap opera , showing u what u don't wanna see. would it hurt to let the movie end fair after so many murders. the story line was great but the ending was a real let down.

You can't fight the railroad and the civilization that comes with it. This was a good western. It has a little of everything. Romance,violence,light sexual content,but no nudity as I remember. All in all a good all around western. I liked the shoot out at the end. I give it 4.5 on a 5 scale.

I liked it a lot, apart from the rather plain and insipid heroine, and the way people too often were looking the wrong way and exchanging meaningful glances when the bullets were flying [SPOILER] . Also, I don't think Ernest Borgnine needed those old granny spectacles to remind us how ancient he is, especially as he never once looked through the lenses. But nice to see that not everyone building the new railroads was an unscrupulous **. (8/10)
