Ace Of Hearts rates 9/10 for me. There were several nice funny parts, plus some moments of pure joy. Despite some sadness, it's a pleasant feel-good movie, which I always appreciate. There were also a few minutes of real suspense. By the way, this flick is definitely not only for those who like dogs. I am not a dog person, yet I found this to be a good film. My only complaint is that the concluding scenes seemed much too brief. They could have done well by investing another ten minutes to beef up the end parts.

The comments below that disliked "the maul scene" may have missed the mark. Any problems there are not enough to spoil the whole movie.
