A Guide for the Married ManSlack-witted comedy. Matthau is a married man who's getting restless and looking to play the field without his wife finding out. He turns to neighbour Morse, who has a reputation as a cocksman, and is given a series of lectures on how to go about infidelity successfully. Each of these lessons is enacted by a star-studded cast, the likes of Mansfield, Terry-Thomas, Silvers, Benny and Ball going through the trials and tribulations of marital deception. Despite Matthau's presence, as well as some of the best comedians of the time, it's just not funny, and Kelly's directorial emphasis on clumsy laddism progresses from irritation to utter boredom.
