Date of Birth: 18 February 1948 Sinead is pronounced Shin-aid. Daughter of Cyril Cusack and Maureen Cusack. Sister of Paul Cusack, Sorcha Cusack, Niamh Cusack and Pádraig Cusack. Half-sister of Catherine Cusack. Two sons, Samuel Irons (born 16 Sept 1978) and Max Irons (born 17 Oct 1985). She was nominated for a Laurence Olivier Theatre Award in 1999 (1998 season) for Best Actress for her performance in Our Lady of Sligo. She was awarded the 1998 London Critics Circle Theatre Award (Drama) for Best Actress for her performance in Our Lady of Sligo at the Royal National Theatre. ... She was awarded the 1998 London Evening Standard Theatre Award for Best Actress for her performance in Our Lady of Sligo. In his book "Kate Remembered" A. Scott Berg notes that Katharine Hepburn thought Cusack was "the real McCoy - one of the most exciting actors I've ever seen". Was nominated for Broadway's 1985 Tony Award as Best Actress (Play) for Shakespeare's "Much Ado About Nothing." In 1971, before she was well-known as an actress, Cusack became notorious for her involvement with with footballer George Best. One weekend when he failed to turn up for his club Manchester United's trip to play Chelsea in London, Cusack's North London flat became besieged by the press when they discovered that he was in fact with her.
