Date of Birth: 2 April 1934 Mother of Kiefer Sutherland and Rachel Sutherland. Daughter of former Saskatchewan Premier Tommy Douglas, who was the founder of Canada's Medicare. Protested a Summit of the Americas meeting in Windsor, Ontario in June 2000. Organized a meeting concerning possible private health care, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada with actress Sarah Polley, and band members from The Tragically Hip. October 2003 she was presented the Order of Canada Spring 2004 she received her own star on Canada's Walk of Fame in Toronto, Ontario ... Grandmother of Sarah Sutherland. She was awarded the O.C.
