Name: Sergio Franchi
Date of Birth: 6 April 1926 Sergio Franchi's father wanted him to become an electrical engineer, so Sergio got a degree in engineering while simultaneously studying music. In 1952, the family emigrated to South Africa where Sergio worked part-time as a draftsman while continuing to develop his vocal technique. Within a few years, he was performing as a lead tenor throughout South Africa. Sergio later returned to Italy to study with singing teacher Rossi Masetti in Milan.
