A huge Charles Chaplin fan, he made a pilgrimage to Chaplin's final resting place in Switzerland's Corsier-Sur-Vevey Cemetery, and since worked with Directors Ridley Scott and Spike Lee in the USA, met Jean-Jacques Beineix at the 'Institut Francais' in London who told him to never give up his dreams and Bruce Robinson at a UK book-signing who told him to have a glass of wine.
