Date of Birth: 1955 Gaup turned down offers to direct _Not Without My Daughter (1991)_ (qv) with 'Sally Field' (qv), _RoboCop (1987)_ (qv) and many others. He began to direct _Waterworld (1995)_ (qv), but he thought the budget was blown up and the project too difficult to handle.Originally wanted to be an athlete when he was young and especially showed a talent for ski-jumping.
