Date of Birth: 25 March 1956 Various reports stated that his death was the result of a mysterious virus, and was possibly drug- or alcohol-related. His brother stated that Matthew had contracted hepatitis in India in 1976, and by the time he was able to be transported back to England for treatment several months later, the disease had spread to his pancreas, resulting in his death from pancreatitis.
