Tall, intimidating, dark-haired veteran American character actress who has reaped numerous awards on the Broadway and off-Broadway stage, including both Obie and Drama Desk awards for her one-woman show "Full Gallop" as Diana Vreeland, a play she co-authored. Played stripper Tessie Tura opposite Angela Lansbury's Rose in the 1974 revival of "Gypsy" and was Ms. Lansbury's understudy as well. ... Played cocktail waitress Ginny, Bonnie Franklin's friend and neighbor on the second season of "One Day at a Time". Starred in the hit revised Broadway musical 'Cabaret' as Fr?ulein Schneider along with Alan Cumming (X2) and Natasha Richardson (The Parent Trap). She was nominated for "Best Featured Actress in a Musical" however missed out on the title. The production, nominated for a total of ten 1998 Tony Awards, won four: Best Revival of a Musical, Best Actor in a Musical (Alan Cumming), Best Actress in a Musical (Natasha Richardson), and Best Featured Actor in a Musical (Ron Rifkin). Nominee for the 2006 Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Featured Actress in a Musical for "Grey Gardens". Winner of the 2007 Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical for her role as old Edith Bouvier Beale in "Grey Gardens". Ms. Wilson grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana. Her father was a doctor specializing in the treatment of tuberculosis. He moved his family south when he was asked to work at Ochsner Hospital.
