Date of Birth: 22 May 1976 Began training in martial arts at the age of 5. Holds black belts in Karate and Tae Kwon Do, and also studied Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, wrestling and boxing among other styles. Was going to be a Police Officer in the R.C.M.P. before discovering acting. Has won several Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournaments. Was going to pursue a career in Mixed Martial Arts (aka Ultimate Fighting) before deciding to concentrate purely on acting. In 2003, he tore 3 ligaments in his knee a couple of days before starting to film the movie Decoys (2004). He was on crutches in between takes. ... In 2004, he was considered for the roles of Blue Ranger and Red Ranger in "Power Rangers S.P.D." (2005). Underwent 2 months of training with a sword, shield and spear before filming 300 (2006).
