Date of Birth: 10 June 1941 Hobbies: skiing, weight training, fitness, swimming, jogging, tennis Raised in Dusseldorf and initially pursued a banking career before devoting himself to acting. Suffered first- and second-degree burns on his cheek while filming a special effects sequence for Dune (1984). His first wife in the 1970s gave birth to a daughter named Johanna who died young. One of his earlier memorable roles was in the ground-breaking 1977 TV film Die Konsequenz (1977), a love story between two homosexuals. The Bayerischer Rundfunk (public TV and radio) station in Bavaria refused to broadcast the film at the time, but audiences who managed to see it were quite touched by what they saw. ... He was considered to play the lead in The Terminator (1984), which eventually went to Arnold Schwarzenegger. In See Arnold Run (2005) (TV) he played Schwarzenegger. Brother of Dieter Prochnow, father of Roman Prochnow and Mona Prochnow.
