Graduated from Bloomsburg University. Worked at Nap's Pizza while in college. Was known by the crew of Loser (2000) as "Lips". Was roommates both in New York and Los Angeles with fellow actor Charlie Day. Was offered a role in Live Free or Die Hard (2007), which he turned down to star in Aaron Sorkin's Broadway adaptation of his own (unproduced) screenplay "The Farnsworth Invention", alongside Hank Azaria.
