Born July 30, 1948 in Casablanca, Morocco of Spanish parents. He studied at the Cours Simon drama school in Paris in 1970, which was founded by French actor René Simon in 1925. The 6 2 actor made his stage debut in Ecce Homo in 1974, and his screen debut in 1978, playing a small role in "L'Hypothese du tableau vole". Married Genevieve in 1977 Daughter Sandra born 1978 ... Reno starred in the French comedy (The Visitors) (1993) and was again nominated for a César for best actor. Reno brought a human persona to an amoral character in Bessons La Femme (1991) in which he co-starred with Annie Parillaud, and again as a similar character in Bessons well received action drama Léon (also known as The Professional and Léon: The Professional) along side and in her first starring role. Reno was again nominated for a César for best actor for Léon (1994). Reno was nominated for an Audience Award for best actor for his portrayal of the detective commissioner Pierre Niemans in Mathieu Kassovitzs mystery thriller Les Rivières pourpres () (2000), and again played a detective in Bessons fast moving dramedy (2001), before co-starring as a businessman with Juliet Binoche in the romantic comedy (2002). In 2005 he appeared in La Tigre e La Neve and Lempire des Loups before co-starring with as a detective in (2006). Reno played Bezu Fache in Ron Howards (2006).
