Name: Jack Blessing
Date of Birth: 29 July 1951 Jack Blessing was born and raised in suburban Baltimore. He began his professional career as a member of Boston's seminal improvisational company "The Proposition." It was in his last year at "The Proposition" that a Paramount casting director spotted him and put him in the Emmy award winning television film _The Defection of Simas Kudirka (1978) (TV)_ (qv) with 'Alan Arkin' (qv). Soon Jack moved to New York City, but didn't stay long. After another TV movie, _Women at West Point (1979) (TV)_ (q... v) with 'Linda Purl' (qv), Jack moved to Los Angeles. After two years of episodic television, a 'Roger Corman' (qv) film, and the infamous _Heaven's Gate (1980)_ (qv), Jack landed his first television series. It was a half hour from Disney TV for CBS called _"Small & Frye" (1983)_ (qv). 'Darren McGavin' (qv) played Nick Small and Jack played Chip Frye. Besides _"Small & Frye" (1983)_ (qv), Jack has starred in several other series. With 'George C. Scott' (qv), Jack starred in the Fox series Mr. President and in what is probably his most visible role, Jack played MacGillicuddy in the last two seasons of the television classic _"Moonlighting" (1985)_ (qv). Jack also played Mr. Donner in the 'T?a Leoni' (qv) series _"The Naked Truth" (1995)_ (qv) and Jack Powers on _"George Lopez" (2002)_ (qv). His roles in episodic TV number more than 100 and have included performances in some of television's landmark shows, including _"M*A*S*H" (1972)_ (qv), _"China Beach" (1988)_ (qv), _"thirtysomething" (1987)_ (qv), _"Roseanne" (1988)_ (qv), _"Northern Exposure" (1990)_ (qv), _"NYPD Blue" (1993)_ (qv), and the _"The X Files" (1993)_ (qv). Jack has starred in numerous films for TV including _LBJ: The Early Years (1987) (TV)_ (qv) with 'Randy Quaid' (qv), _Amos (1985) (TV)_ (qv) with 'Kirk Douglas (I)' (qv), _Joshua's Heart (1990) (TV)_ (qv) with 'Melissa Gilbert (I)' (qv), and the HBO film _The Last of His Tribe (1992) (TV)_ (qv) with 'Graham Green (II)' (qv) and 'Jon Voight' (qv). Besides his on camera work, Jack has lent his voice to over 3000 movies and television shows. He lives in Chatsworth, California, with his wife Lora.
