Date of Birth: 5 November 1961 Initially earned a degree in Art Design and worked as a model in print ads. Auditioned three times for the role of Tony's sister Janice Soprano on "The Sopranos" (1999), but Aida Turturro got the part because the series creators wanted a heavier actress. Died of a rare bacterial infection of the heart. Her heartbroken father, Leonard, died six months later. Had three other sisters. Italian-American actress remembered for her work in the Martin Scorsese's film Goodfellas (1990), in which she played Ray Liotta's mistress. She originally appeared in The Color of Money (1986) playing pool hustler Tom Cruise's girlfriend but her lack of acting experience caused her to be replaced by Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio after three weeks of shooting.
