He made his debut in 1996 in Alejandro Amenábar’s debut film, , and also starred in the director’s next film, . Both roles were written especially for him by Amenábar and co-writer Mateo Gil who he met while they were all students making short films. To date his biggest successes have been thrillers –, , (Mateo Gil’s directorial debut), Burnt Money (dir. Marcelo Pineyro), The Devil’s Backbone (dir. Guillermo del Toro), and El Lobo (dir. Miguel Courtois). He also had a role in Spain’s first ‘super-production’, (dir. Agustin Diaz Yanes), which starred Viggo Mortenson in the title role and a host of other leading Spanish actors. ...
