Date of Birth: 18 October 1990 Remains close to the cast of Mean Creek (2004), in which she starred. She was on the A-list for children actors in W magazine (February 2005) issue. Not only did actor Kin Shriner discover her by asking that she play his daughter Serena in the soap operas "General Hospital" (1963) and "Port Charles" (1997) after seeing her in a commercial, he also named his boat the "Serena" after the character that she portrayed. Grew up in Valparaiso, Indiana, but when she was seven moved out to Thousand Oaks, California when she got the part as Serena Baldwin, on "General Hospital" (1963) and "Port Charles" (1997). ... Is good friends with her "Lizzie McGuire" (2001) co-star Jake Thomas. Was cast as Cassie in RV, but had to drop out due to filming conflicts. Co-starred with her younger brother, Hunter Schroeder, in her new movie Gracie (2007). Twice has played a character who loves to play soccer, but has to fight to prove herself to her male-dominated team in "Dawson's Creek" (1998) and Gracie (2007). Was only supposed to do one show of "Lizzie McGuire" (2001). Producers liked Carly's interpretation of Melina so they wrote her into the show. She enjoys sports, including baseball, scuba diving, karate, surfing, grappling, soccer and horseback riding. Received Best Emerging Actress award from Kids First Awards (October 2007). Is of German descent. Is of no relation to Rick Schroder, although asked many times. Was originally slated to reprise her role as Alyssa in the Eye of the Dolphin (2006) sequel Beneath the Blue (2009), but was unable to star when scheduling conflicts arose with two other projects.
