Gallagher started acting in school where she was involved in the school choir and drama productions at Nazareth House Primary and St. Mary's College in Creggan. She credits these schools for encouraging her in the positive manner which motivated her to take on acting professionally. The only non-acting jobs Gallagher had was when she was a teenager, she worked in vintage clothes and shoe shops While in school she joined the Oakgrove Theatre Company in Derry. ...
