Date of Birth: 18 April 1918 She was one of the first stand up comediennes and a Forces' sweetheart during the Second World War, before moving into television, film and theatre.
Daughter of Harry Angers. In 1949 she announced her engagement to actor Barry Wicks, only to declare, nearly two years later, while in a summer show at Bexhill-on-Sea, that she was "too busy" for marriage. She never married and was survived by two brothers. Avril Angers movies (actor)
